(Kuja shall always retain some childishness about him IMO even if he does mature in 012. I think that's one of the reasons Kujerra works so well, Terra gets to kick her mothering instict into overdrive.
And who said it was over!?)
Shock
“You’re…” Terra’s head nods rapidly as she pulls him closer for a hug. Delight is blazing off her face now.
“Isn’t it lovely?” Rapid kisses plant his neck. His expression still hasn’t changed. “We’re going to have a baby of our own!”
“Uh huh…”
She notices his hesitation and looks up. “I know it’s a bit much to take in---” “A bit?” “Well…when you think about it, it shouldn’t come as such a surprise. I mean we have been…busy for a while now and it’s not as though we took any precautions.” “I know it’s just…” “Just what?” “I’m having a bit of trouble coming to terms with this…I mean I wasn’t exactly designed with this in mind---” “But then why do you have---” “That’s what I’m trying to understand!” “Um, I don’t really follow…” “The old man built me as an angel of death. No, no, he built me as a vessel… That’s right, so the vessel was supposed to be perfect for when a true Terran soul filled it. I wasn’t intended to keep it…” he raves into his chest. “Kuja, you’re not making any sense.” “That’s why Genomes aren’t an asexual species…”
As Kuja mutters, curled up in a ball, Terra’s stomach growls and she wonders if it’s safe to leave him like this. Throwing her nightgown on, she heads towards the door.
“…so naturally I should be able to—well am able to reproduce…” “Err…I’m going to go get a snack. Are you going to be alright for a few minutes on your own?” “and am---what---alone!?” “I’ll come straight back.” “No not me, you! Leave you unattended in such a delicate condition---what if you take ill again!?” “I’m just heading to the pantry…” “Oh right…” His face flushes the same crimson as his feathers. “But I insist nevertheless! I can’t risk anything happening to my little bird."
----------------
(so far this is the last one. But I always imagined Kuja can't quite get over the fact that he's an artificial lifeform so he'd be a little confused by the idea that he could breed even if there's more than enough evidence to the contrary)
ENDED!?
