Day 23: Most Disappointing Dissidia Feature (or lack thereof)

I miss having the PCs running around in their alts outside of combat. I'm not asking for the alts to be acknowledged in Cutscenes but I would have been happy with just seeing it on the world map!

On a more serious note, a story mode for Chaos Characters. Sure, there were SOME reports where we play as them but it wasn't enough. At the least I would have liked a story mode where I could level up the Chaos PCs the same way as the Cosmos ones. Then I wouldn't be dragging my feet when it came to maxing them out and stuff.

Quest mode needed more work. First off a bigger text limit. The current one does murder on my spelling DX. Also the way to make the quests just seemed so tedious and long. Plus they never explained the quest symbols. EASIER QUEST SYSTEM PLZ, SE

YES to all of the above. We essentially need Dissidia on a bigger platform or at least 2 UMDS; there is too much potential floating around to even hope to constrain to one UMD.

And as a Camp Chaos fan I was bitterly dissapointed that we only really had two playable story modes (Cloud didn't count due to being a hero) and they were both terribly short. I love report 01 but it just wasn't enough. We need to know more about what it's like to be on Team Chaos, the dog-eat-dog aspect of it, how they all despise being ruled over by someone else and what strives those who aren't evil to act out.

One of the reasons I ship Clouja is because it's the first case of anything resembling comraderie on Team Chaos (true there is Palamecia but with that there is a sense of a power struggle rather than genuine amiability) between two people who loathe their situation and are disgusted by the immorality of their 'allies'. Report 01 helped in establishing just how careful you had to be if you were chosen by Chaos; even if you didn't want to have anything to do with him you were forced to fight or you'd be harassed, tortured or outright killed off. Those who still posessed morality strove to assist the Cosmos warriors in their own ways whilst those who were too far gone delighted in preying on them. So much could've been done with this. WHY DID YOU LET A GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY GO TO WASTE, S-E!?

Unfortunately I got thrown off course by something RL related so I'm having a bit of a block:

Yeah, prose is not my friend so I tend to focus on dialogue. I hope that's okay...

Whether it was rushed or not I cannot tell. I know that they were banking on a lot of it being down to DLC (such as the Japanese only quests) and decided to reboot the old Dissidia in the mix. However they decided against putting 012 on one UMD and 013 on another for some reason, presumably because it would take too long or they were hoping on that being the selling feature for Type-0.

Well other than a cold that's making me woozy I should be okay.

Sadly Thongwearing Ladyboy was not my invention. When xi_feng was posting her translations of 012 (she had the japanese version so in the three weeks before the western release she was the font of 012 knowledge) this was the line "He and his black thong are going to regret this!" came off as. (The actual translation is closer to "that black panties bastard" but thongwearing ladyboy is heaps funnier)
