*pokes title* Sure you wanna ask me that? It won't be pretty...You still wanna know? Well, okay...you were warned!

Cycle 14 (as envisioned by alkonost_storm):

To sum it all up in one sentence: EVERYTHING GOES TO HELL.

How, you may ask? Well, let me count the ways...

Sadly Mythtaken: Unbeknowst to mostly everyone involved in this mess, Cosmos and Chaos are actually triple-aspect deities. Certain parties decided they did not want four extra divine aspects involved in the Cycles so they were sealed away. In Cycle 014, it's not enough that the seals expire; to being separated from the Gods, these aspects acquire their own bodies and move on to meddle with the Cycles, and those involved with the Cycles.

Manikin Evolution: Some of the aspects decide to change the rules a little by altering the original mindless cannon fodder nature of the manikins. First step: basic sentience, along with the capacity to learn and adapt. Second step: Let's add all the worst traits of every fighter in this conflict and see what happens! >8D

Bait and Switch Boss: Chaos and Cosmos (or their aspects) won't be the final enemies in this adventure....*shifty look*
Gotterdamerung: Well...that's what will happen if certain parties get their way....

MINDSCREW, MINDRAPE, MINDFUCK: Expect this from the Chaotic personas of Cosmos and Chaos. Their ideal targets of course, will be the Cosmos Crew and any well-intentioned person on Team Chaos but overall, they're not picky about who they screw over. Please keep in mind that these two are not the actual villains.

Okay that's all I can think up plotwise...ON TO GAMEPLAY!

New Player Characters:

-Leon (FF2)
-Genesis, Zack (FF7: Crisis Core)
-Rinoa (FF8)
-Ashe, Vayne (FF12)
-Fang, Barthandelus (FF13)

World Map:

*pushes in all landmasses from the other FFs into the Dissidia!Map*

Final Dungeon: (it will kinda sorta be like a platformer game!)
Setting: The Labyrinth
Additions: Trap corridors (like in Prince of Persia), puzzle rooms, significant character development rooms, NON-MANIKIN BOSSFIGHTS (WITH REAL MONSTERS)

Story Modes:
-Cosmos-side story mode
-Chaos-side story mode
-000-esque/final dungeon story mode: this feature will have the gameplay style of games like Assassin's Creed, Prince of Persia and the Infamous series; characters will have to climb up various structures, try and get past traps (in the style of PoP, that sort of thing.
-REPORTS

Extra Features
-Better Quest system (with official quests)
-Data import (this time it imports your entire inventory regarding equipment and the PP catalog)
-PARTY BANTER

*looks at entry* Yeah I've overthought this I know XD

This would actually not work in the aspect's favour if you think about it hard enough. Manikins only work because they possess no minds of their own and therefore lack their own desires, thoughts and awareness of their own existence, therefore they can keep on fighting till their demise with no qualms. If they gained sentience they would appreciate their own lives too much to fight without inhibitions and could quite possibly rebel against their own masters.

Case in point #1: Kuja. Aware that he has a will of his own and a life he wants to control himself, he rejects the purpose of his existence as someone's tool and rebels against his master.

Case in point #2: Zidane. Originally raised to believe he was an ordinary person, he is too attached to life as he knows it to dispose of it to serve as a tool and rebels against his master.

Case in point #3: The Black Mages. Designed as mindless puppets, they gain awareness due to the horror of war shocking them into wanting to survive. They flee from humans and learn to respect life rather than casually destroy it.

Case in point #4: WoL. Created as a blank slate, he was given a reason to live and fight by Prishe and Cosmos, choosing to serve the goddess of his own free will as he feels it gives him something to live for.

Odds are the manikins would go off and do their own thing and even if some of them tried following the aspects there is no guarentee that they wouldn't ditch it after realising they were just being used.

Also the worst traits of each warrior doesn't neccesarily mean a badder manikin. For example Laguna's worst trait is his goofy clumsiness which would mean a derp manikin tripping over it's own feet. Tidus' worst trait is his stubborn immaturity which would equal a petulant manikin. etc.

I'm not saying it's a bad idea, just that it doesn't neccesarily mesh with the plot. Though sentient manikins defecting would be a perfect example of chaos unfolding on all ends. It just wouldn't be as much of a threat to the Cosmos/Chaos warriors as it would be to the aspects.

That's the point

That's the point of them gaining sentience, to turn on their masters and thus change the rules. And what I meant by worst traits (but failed to word properly)was basically vices. Everyone is guilty of these.

Hmmm... But if that's the case then the victory is less satisfying because the protagonists have an easier time taking down the aspects because of the manikins defecting.

Also it means you've got to figure out what happens to the manikins at the end. Do they all die? Do some of them go off to start their own lives? Do one or two of them join the party? They've transformed from an object to characters in this respect.

(Sorry, I'm aware I'm probably not phrasing this particularly well)

Honestly....

I was thinking once the big bad was slain they and the Rift would be gone. Because with the big bad gone the world would work as it's supposed to and the cycles would truly be over.

000 is a dream sequence so in some respects it IS over once Chaos is slain. For the full analysis, I direct you here. (NOTE: Squall_of_Seed was the one who suggested this question to me in the first place)

It's a nightmare Shinryu condemns Cid to in his anger over Cid taking a side in the conflict and breaking the rules of their contract. The warriors of Cosmos/Chaos were unaffected since the nightmare took place over the thirteenth cycle. So Dissidia's world B goes, everyone ends up back in World A (Final Fantasy I's world) and the heroes all go home.

That is until they all turn into dancing chibis for cycle 014...

Tbh all that planning was my idea of Cycle 14 rather than what happens in 000. It just seemed to me like what happens at the end is just the beginning of the end for the Cycles, given the secret cutscene in the first game. Using that as my cue, I figured Cycle 014 was where everything unraveled and came to an actual end

I can understand that. Right now I only use cycle 014 as a 'what if' excuse for the kink meme; I wouldn't want an actual game based around it unless it was set outside of Dissidia's world and allowed for something a little different than just heroes vs villains. As awesome as that format was for the original and Duodecium, I'd like to see things shaken up a bit.

Though I would be highly amused if 014 involved the world going so far to hell everyone turned into KH chibis and had to dance their way back to world restoration.

The new FF game that's been announced is quite likely a Dissidia spin off due to featuring Cosmos and Chaos on the logo and having Lightning, Onion Knight, WoL and Cloud confirmed as appearing. Also the style is the KH chibis design, similar to those player icons you can purchase from the PP catalog. Here's the comm post.

Well despite being a fan or Leon, Zack, Genesis, Vayne and Seymour I'd need to know a bit more about what they'd be doing there specifically in order to get excited. (For some reason I'm really having difficulty coming up with ideas for characters I'd want to see in Dissidia)

It throws a wrench into everyone's plans--we wind up with a Thirty Xanatos Pileup at the end, and only one entity's plans still go like they were originally set up: and those plans belong to the real Big Bad.

I could go on but I'd be spoiling some MAJOR $#!7 if I did.

As for the sentience and traits, it's the basest of the base. They're still mostly mooks, but with that extra little something that adds to the creep factor—frankly it's more likely that the creep-out factor would trip the heroes up than the manikins themselves.

May the gods help us if the bastards get to the ultimate-level manikins
