After some thought, I've decided that my prefered faction would have to be Cosmos. It's true that they are the heroes and that it's usually a given for good to triumph over evil. On the other hand, it's somewhat unfair to the Chaos faction because you hardly get to view the conflict from their end. I could go on about this, but it's a subject for another day.

The Cosmos faction does provide a very good reason to cheer them on, however: they're actively trying to end the cycles and stop the fighting so that everyone can go home again. The Chaos faction on the other hand, intend to use the cycles to achieve their own ends, ones that may not even be that permanent as the world in DDFF is so unstable.

That is why I throw my support behind Team Cosmos; they're trying to save everyone--even the villains--by stopping the cycles that keep them trapped and forced to fight in an endless struggle for dominance.

Oh, it's the lady from DeviantArt. HAI!

IT SPREADS! MWHAAHAHAHAAAAA! YES, WITH THIS I SHALL SUCCEED AND MOTHER'S MEMETIC LEGACY CAN PROSPER!!! (Yah, I'm the one responsible for this meme, hence the derpy lack of a best assist or best summonstone entry and the poor layout)

Solid reasoning and an excellent point. Now I feel guilty for supporting Chaos.

Not for the first time I wish SE had provided an actual storymode for the Chaos bunch...that way it'd be easier to level them up as well as see the conflict from their perspective.

...IMO, the Chaos bunch seems to just toss them even more reasons to end the mess Shinryu created XD

Yeah, I really wish we could've seen things from their perspective. Other than report 01 (which I could compose an eternal rhapsody for) we just don't get a chance to follow them around and see what life is like for their side. Report 07 and Report 04 (I think...the one with Sephiroth) help expand what it's like as a Chaos member but not the Chaos folks as we'd classify them.

What I find intriguing is that these are all people who, like Cosmos' warriors were summoned against their will, but due to being more cynical, hardened by their pasts or just plain evil they do not trust one another and mostly look out for themselves. I want to see how their plans are formed, what motivates them to pick on certain characters and how they behave behind closed doors. Mostly I'm interested by the fact that they're smarter (mostly), stronger and more experienced than our poor heroes, yet they're still not in the situation they want to be in and work in their own ways to overcome this.

Also there's the fact that some of them aren't evil and make genuine attempts to help each other or people on Cosmos' side. Golbez is a bloody saint, Jecht had no clue that the consequences of the conflict = genuine death and Kuja originally tried to help Zidane and pals take on Chaos but he got caught out and mind raped into a bad guy. Whilst the Cosmos guys have the goals I want to suceed, Chaos' folks are the people I want to follow as an audience member.
